Liriel is a soft-spoken lover of nature. She cares deeply about the world around her. Because she is so in tune with her surroundings, she can almost feel the emotions others are feeling. This has led her to become less social, opting to spend more time in nature than in villages. People carry far too much negative emotion for her to want to live alongside them.
Liriel was forced away from her parents at a very young age. Her mother was a slave to a man named Omareth Melarn, a dark elf who views elven blood as superior to all others. Liriel is only half elf, so her birth was never permitted. Her father, a human, was dragged away and murdered for his actions. To keep her safe, her mother snuck her away, but could not escape with her. So, she was raised by the animals of the sea, but she has been hunted ever since.
Liriel has gone through life with no ultimate purpose. She wants to find her mother, but she doesn’t know where she is. So she spends her time in nature, especially the ocean, and had made a vow to herself to help those persecuted for things they can’t control. This is why she has joined to help take down the Hallowed Shroud. She also believes Omareth could be involved and she wants answers, but she has to be sure before she acts.
