Man, it has been a wild month. I have made steady progress on the story and I’m guessing I’m about 75% done with it at this point (I think). I know I’ve said it before, but I stand by my statement that this will be the best story I’ve ever written, and the further I get into it the more I believe that. I don’t think it’s anything specific that set this apart from the rest, but rather, a culmination of so many great elements.
I am currently 118,000 words in, and I’m on chapter 24. I project that there will be 32 chapters in total, but of course that’s subject to change. However, this book is so damn long that I am going to include a table of contents this time to help with finding the chapters. I typically only have around 12-18 chapters in a book, so this is an obvious outlier.
I’m still not sure when I’ll finish the novel, but if I had to guess, I would think sometime in the fall. However, I’m really putting all my eggs in this basket, so I’m going to try and query as many agents as I can once I’m finished to see if I can FINALLY get a book published officially. I don’t want to be too optimistic and crush my own spirit, but I really feel like this one has the tools to shoot for the stars.
Once I revise the fist two chapters, I will gladly send them to anyone and everyone who wants a free sample so that I can further get the word out about the book, and I want to do as many book signings as I can as well to help promote. This is where I struggle the most, as I’ve always been a bit of a recluse. Even this website was a struggle to start, it just feels silly putting myself out like that, but I’m going to do it all the same (wish me luck).
