With the first draft at least, lol.
I have been hard at it and I have FINALLY finished the first draft of the book. Now, I’m still far from finished. I have to go through and reread all 160,000+ words to try and catch any mistakes, add in more detail, and take out unnecessary repetition. But, it still feels good to have made it this far.
The remaining process is still going to be slower. I will do each chapter, one at a time, slowly. I will also be creating the chapter outline as I do it, so I can submit the book to agents and hopefully get my first traditionally published title. I have poured my entire soul into making this perfect, so I am hopeful this will be the one to do it.
In the unfortunate event that it doesn’t catch on with agents, I will still publish this myself. I will be slightly disappointed, but far from defeated. I get more rejection letters than text messages at this point, so a few more aren’t going to stop or slow me down. I’ll still keep on writing the stories I have planned undeterred.
As it sits, the story is 162,000ish words and 600ish pages. This will change quite a bit as I add and remove various sentences, but it will still end close to these numbers. This is by far the longest book I have ever written, with the runner up being The Plague of Kavronax, a 98,000ish word book that is actually a precursor to this one (but you don’t have to read that before this).
With all that being said, I hope you stay tuned for a future release date, and I can’t wait for people to dip their toes back into Tahlav and embark on the most epic journey I have ever put together. I’m serious when I say you will feel undeniable joy and unavoidable heartbreak before you reach the final page.
