As of now, I’m in book limbo. I am waiting on the replies from the agents I’ve queried, but that process can take a lot of time. Instead of rushing to the next book like I usually do, I’ve decided to take a break from writing for now. Probably until I publish this one, so the weight of the story stays fresh and not overshadowed by my ideas for the next one. I’m letting this one simmer, lol.
But when I do start writing again, probably in a month or two, I will start on the “Compendium of Distinguished Tales“, which is a collection of short stories to Novellas that will fill in the many of the various little gaps in the stories as a whole. A lot of different events are mentioned in the books, whether historical or happening somewhere else, but never spoken about directly. I will be using this compendium to bring all of those stories to life.
I still don’t know how many tales will be included, but as it sits now, there will be eight. The fall of the Leighis empire, the Sacrifice of the Leavehan Dynasty, the origins of the Paxanthian Dragon, the impossible mission of the Golden Fangs, and many more. All of these things are talked about, but never given detail, so I plan to change that.
However, it will be a long time before I finish that one. I will be stopping in the middle of that to work on “The Battle of Fates“, the next entry into the Lands of War collection. I’m excited about this one as well, but I have some work to do on the structuring before I can start writing it. Plus, as with many of my books, it is a retelling of a TTRPG game my friends and I are playing, and we’re just getting started, lol. But it will be awesome as the threads of the game begin to weave the story.
So, I appreciate everyone here and I am looking forward to every step in my writing future (I’ll probably be doing this until I’m 90). For now it’s a waiting game, but I’m enjoying my time playing video games and spending precious hours with my family. Even though it sucks sometimes, life is good, and I’m thankful for the opportunity to tell my stories.
